Welcome to The Weird Pixel
Welcome one and all to theweirdpixel.com!
This is a website for people who are interested in a personalised, informal and subjective view on the games industry, from a few guys in the UK.
The most important point to understand about The Weird Pixel is that editorially, everything written by us will be from a personal perspective. That pretty much means that we won’t tell you boring points about a game’s graphics in our reviews, as though we’re ticking boxes in a criteria list. Instead, we’ll discuss why we think that a game’s not worth buying or perhaps why it’s the best freakin game ever invented EVER. Similarly, in our daily news, we won’t just regurgitate everything that’s all over the news blogs. Instead, we’ll put a personal spin on it and tell you why we feel that ‘this’ might have happened or why ‘that’ failed to happen. So as you can tell, for us, it’s not about us giving you every single piece of information. It’s about delivering friendly advice in a- hopefully- witty and casual way that makes you guys inclined to come back and read more!
Something else that’s going to be hugely important to the success of The Weird Pixel will be your participation. Whilst the site is in blog format, we’ll ask you to send us in your videos, blogs, user reviews, podcasts and much, much more in order to make your input as important as our own! After a few years and we have the resources to build a larger, more fully functioning site, we’ll make your content an even larger part of what we do here on The Weird Pixel. We’ve already got a tonne of really innovative ideas which have never been done before; all we need is your support to make this work for us.
Rather crucially, we at The weird Pixel base are small in number, and that’s the way we want to keep it. Impersonal, large groups of editorial teams churning out stock reviews just aren’t our bag; we want you to know what we’re like as people on a personal level, and that in turn makes your ability to judge what we say easier to relate to and get behind, or against.
Finally, I’d like to comment on you lot reading this. We all know that there are a LOT of mean people on the internet, but we want The weird Pixel to be a hate-free zone. If you’ve got something to say that could be taken as offensive to anybody from any culture, take it somewhere else and let the vast majority of us who enjoy games and people get on with our day. It’s great getting feedback on stuff that we’ve written, and hopefully, the fact that our words are our subjective opinions means that if you don’t like what we say, you can just ignore us!
Finally, we’d just like to say that our experience writing about games in the past has given us a good idea of what we need to be doing on The Weird pixel. For us, this site is a dream come true, and we’ll be putting our al into making sure that you enjoy your time reading and watching our stuff. We hope that you take pride in making theweirdpixel.com your home, as we have!
With thanks,
