PS3 Hulu Blocked

Not the biggest story on the net but one that has caused a lot of outrage and surprise to PS3 users.

Essentialy today Hulu have blocked access via the PS3’s web browser, there’s no official word on why yet but Engadget have pinpointed the issue to Hulu and not at the PS3.

Hulu have reportedly plugged the plug on Playstation 3 users because of pressures from broadcasters who feel, that as the PS3 allows for viewing on a TV screen, they will loose viewers who watch there actual broadcasts.  So, essentially the tv networks think that if people can watch hulu on their tvs (instead of in their computers) they’ll stop watching actual tv broadcasts.

Some speculation of an exclusivity deal with Microsoft did surface earlier, however, this is largely unlikely.

The decision comes somewhat of a surprise and further highlights the broadcasters need for control, we’re talking net neutrality here and that ain’t good.
