The drums look pretty sturdy and the pads are reminscient of the ION drums. However, if you already own a drum kit would you really be inclinded to get this? The improvements seem almost minimal and the prospect of another drum kit in my cluttered room is really not possible. Add to that the fact that GH5 will cost more than an Xbox 360 and an Nintendo Wii I’ll probably stick with software only.  One key difference with the drums this time is the positioning  of the controls which instead of been embeded between the drum pads seems to stick out more. Again these are only minor adjustements and unless you’re new to the series it’s probably not worth the money.

Activision have also revealed some more of the Guitar Hero5 track list (they previously revealed some of the track list last week) and while some of the bands are huge it is a bit disappointing not to see the songs that are synonymous with the artist. The White Stripes, for example, why not Seven Nation Army and Nirvana been another example, where is smells like teen spirit? It’s not to say that the songs they’ve selected are bad but they could have chosen a better selection. I’m still holding out for money for nothing by Dire Straits. I have to say though nice to see another Bon Jovi classic on the list!

Attack! Attack! UK – “You And Me”
Bon Jovi – “You Give Love A Bad Name”
Darker My Love – “Blue Day”
The Duke Spirit – “Send A Little Love Token”
Elton John – “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)”
Face To Face – “Disconnected”
Garbage – “Only Happy When It Rains”
Kaiser Chiefs – “Never Miss A Beat”
Kiss – “Shout It Out Loud”
Love and Rockets – “Mirror People”
My Morning Jacket – “One Big Holiday”
Nirvana – “Lithium (Live)”
The Police – “So Lonely”
Rammstein – “Du Hast”
The Rolling Stones – “Sympathy For The Devil”
Sonic Youth – “Incinerate”
Screaming Trees – “Nearly Lost You”
Sublime – “What I Got”
The Sword – “Maiden, Mother & Crone”
Thin Lizzy – “Jailbreak”
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers – “American Girl”
The White Stripes – “Blue Orchid”
