Ok, so maybe there’s not as much content here as I’d like there to be, so stick with me on this one! Today, this one, single screen shot of the PC version of 2010-marked Alice in Wonderland game popped onto the interwebs, and to be frank, it looks pretty good. As you can see, the Mad Hatter and the Hare are both hanging out at their tea party looking all afraid of something, and there’s a bunch of wind in the back ground messing stuff up.
I wonder what that’s all about…
Anyway, the game’s set for a 2010 release and is coming out on PC, Wii and Ds. I, for one, am interested.
I’m not really sure what’s going on with the Games for Windows scene, but as of yesterday, it’s getting a little bit more comp[rehensive, a little more… usable, with its 3.0 update!
The largest of the new features is the ability to download content for the game you’re playing from within the game, meaning that you no longer have to exit tot he dashboard or whatever to get something new. For convenience you can now also use your credit card in-game to purchase stuff.
Here’s the full list of new features:
The biggest feature is the in-game marketplace, which lets you purchase items for your game from within the game itself. You no longer have to exit your game to view or purchase Game Add-ons.
Once you’ve bought something, Games for Windows – LIVE will download the Game Add-ons and install it all from within the game.

Starting with new title releases this fall, publishers can optionally take advantage of two new methods to ensure everyone’s playing with a legitimate copy of their games.
Server Side Authentication links the game license to your Gamertag. The advantage of this method is that it allows installation of the game onto any PC, anywhere — only you can access the LIVE service from the game. Server Side Authentication has no affect on offline play..
Zero Day Piracy Protection keeps games from launching before the street date the publisher has set for the game.
It’s official, you won’t be able to play StarCraft II: Wings Of Liberty until 2010.
Blizzard has moved the release date of the real-time strategy game to the “first half of 2010″ after previously hinting that they hoped for a Q4 2009 release.
Activision Blizzard’s reason for the delay of StarCraft II is reportedly tied to the relaunch of its upgraded Battle.net service, which handles multiplayer for all things Blizzard. In a statement to the Blizzard community, the developer writes “Over the past couple of weeks, it has become clear that it will take longer than expected to prepare the new Battle.net for the launch of the game.”
Blizzard calls the new Battle.net an “integral part of the StarCraft II experience and will be an essential part of all of our games moving forward.” Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said during an investor call today that the new iteration of Battle.net will likely be ready “early next year.”
The delay comes as no surprise as it has already being noted that the MMO would need 4-6 months beta testing which hasn’t already begun so many cited 2010 as the only realistic release date.
Ok everyone, it’s time to start booking holiday off work or working on your sick voice, as EA have revealed the release date for FIFA 10 to be Friday 2nd October. Being EA, the game is of course being released on every platform imaginable, you never know you might even be able to get a copy that will run on your microwave this year, who knows!
Stick around at The Weird Pixel for a full preview and review as soon as we get our hands on a playable version.
It appears as though online retailer TheHut is having a bit of a clearance sale, and Assassin’s Creed 2 is going for cheap! Here are the prices for PS3, 360 and PC versions of the game for you to preorder:
Sup, apparently there’s to be some nice-ass downloadable content for the original Left 4 Dead coming this year in the form of a new level.
Gabe Newell, Valve Studio head said of the matter:
“Since the release of Left 4 Dead last November, the design team has been excited about creating new experiences for this world and allowing players to do the same, by releasing much of our internal toolset, like the Survival Pack and Authoring Tools,”
Of course people only really care about premium downlaods, the stuff created by the developers, right? So i’m glad to hear that the new level: Crash Course, will bridge a gap in the game’s campaign between the No Mercy and Death Toll levels. Perhaps the only bit of weird news to come out of this story is the price of the content. For the PC, the download will be totally free, but if you’re a console owner, you’ll have to pay 560 MS Points to get the level. Don’t ask me why, it’s stupid, I know, but that’s the way it is, I guess.
The Sims 3 has being out for a couple of months now which means it’s time for a brand new expansion pack.
EA have unveiled an expansion pack for Sims 3 entitled World Adventure.
The PC and Mac expansion ships on the 16th November as EA hope to cash in on the looming holiday season.
World Adventure lets Sims travel around the globe to famous places, learning skills, searching for treasure and picking up new styles along the way. Your sims may travel to China and learn martial arts (EA does not endorse stereotypes) or go sightseeing in France. All of your Sim’s adventures can be recorded in a photo album which can be shared with friends.
EA plans exclusive downloadable content for World Adventure in the future, and will offer buyers 1000 Sim Points to spend in The Sims 3 Store.
Additionally the expansion will eventually find its way onto the iPhone and iPod touch early next year.

Battlefield is a series felt by many as the best online shooter. Dice are certainly veteraned and experienced in the area and their next title Battlefield 2: Bad Company already has a large amount of buzz around it and thanks to one Comic-Con goer we can all view this gameplay footage of Battlefield in action.
A week or so ago, there was a bunch of controversy over John Carmack’s disputing over the pros and cons of the 360 and PS3, and today, that’ll continue a little bit more!
At the moment, Carmack claims that the 360 version of up and coming FPS, racer RAGE runs at a clean 60 fps, which is comparable to the PC version of the game. On the other hand, he states that the PS3 version of the game is curently running at “20-30fps”.
Of course, this got the PS3 fan boys all ruffled up, so let me reassure you with this nice little snippet of information from Carmack:
“Everything is designed as a 60 hertz game. We expect this to be 60 hertz on every supported platform…The work remaining is getting it locked so there’s never a dropped frame or a tear, but we’re confident that we’re going to get that.”
Yeah, so there fanboys of the PS3, 360 and PC. Everything’s going to be equally as good as everything else, so stop your winging and get on with each other!
